When I was here, we had, for example, specialized reading machines that would read text, and it was very labor intensive. And now your phone will do that. To even that playing field for students has just been something tremendous.

I always recommend to come in and just ask for help. I didn’t know where to fill out the FAFSA or where to fill out the application for college.

I think my students like to know that I understand their journey and the profession.

I’m more of a hands-on person, so being able to physically do the wiring or adjusting parameters on a screen versus sitting on a computer all day or typing is much easier and I can remember it better.
