Bright Beginnings

SCTCC's Dental Hygiene program began in 1993. By 1994, the Dental Hygiene Clinic was serving central Minnesota communities with a six-chair clinic for preventative services. In 1999, the clinic underwent renovation, expanding its capacity to 12 chairs.

Timeline Tidbits

1995
The newly formed Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) brought St. Cloud Technical College into its system.
2003
Through a collaboration with Anoka-Ramsey Community College, St. Cloud Technical College offered an Associate of Arts (AA) degree to be completed entirely on campus.
2004
The Cyclones joined the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), the largest national organization for two-year athletics in the country.

Becoming Cyclones

Mid 90s

The College transitioned from the Spartans to the Cyclones as its mascot in the mid-1990s.

Northway Building Addition Ribbon Cutting

In 2006, the addition of the Northway Building was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Among the guests in attendance were Governor Tim Pawlenty, President Helens, and Former President Volkmuth.

Expansion to Two Buildings

The College purchased a building and property from Charter Communications in 2006 and opened it in 2007 as the CTEC/Administrative Building.

Interconnect: The Artistry of Caprice Glaser

In 2008, the talented St. Paul artist Caprice Glaser unveiled her sculpture, commonly referred to as the 'Donut.'

"The piece expresses the connection among students, teachers and the community," Glaser said.

The College celebrated 60 years of “Hire Education” with a proclamation from the Mayor of St. Cloud.
