At SCTCC, students will use their StarID to access:
- E-services
- D2L Brightspace
- campus computers
You need to activate your StarID before using it.
We recommend using Firefox, Safari, Chrome, or Edge when activating your StarID.
Changing your StarID password
Minnesota State requires you to change your password every 180 days. Your email, eServices, D2L Brightspace, and campus computer login all use StarID for credentials, so you just need to update your password once.
To change your StarID password, visit https://starid.minnstate.edu, select StarID Self Service, then select Forgot Password or Expired Password to change your password. After changing your Star ID password, please allow 10 minutes for the password change to take affect. If you use an email client or app like Outlook or Mail, you will need to update your password in your settings.
StarID / Password Help:
- Since StarIDs are assigned and managed through Minnesota State, the quickest and easiest way to get information is through StarID Self Service.
- If you forgot your password or need to reset an expired StarID password, please visit StarID Password.
Locked out of your account?
If you get locked out of your account and are not able to access it, visit room 1-405 and we would be happy to assist you.
Please be prepared to show your Cyclone ID card, so we can verify your identity.
