Make sure you know your StarID and password. You will use this unique StarID throughout your time at SCTCC. If you have attended another Minnesota State college or university, you will use the same StarID and password – you do not need to create a new one.

- You will need your Tech ID located at the top of the letter or email you receive from SCTCC.

Visit https://www.sctcc.edu/orientation to complete eOrientation. eOrientation will help you become familiar with SCTCC services and the processes that you’ll use often while you’re at SCTCC.
At the end of eOrientation, you will be able to sign up for an appointment to meet with an academic advisor. We offer in-person and Zoom meetings. You'll need access to a computer, phone, or other device with internet access to participate in the Zoom meeting.
- If you plan to use financial aid, complete your FAFSA to get the process started.

All technical programs have a required Program Orientation session that will be held in the summer. The Program Orientation will be a time to discuss any tool or technology needs, meet classmates, get a tour of the lab spaces, and connect with your program faculty advisor. You will be provided further information about your Program Orientation session at your advising meeting.
