Why Choose This Program
At SCTCC we ensure every student will find success, by developing creative and technical skills in marketing campaigns, graphic design, content creation, and social media.
With a Marketing and Design degree, there are a variety of career paths graduates can take. To ensure they excel, students take classes focused on communications, innovation, and creativity. Our graduates leave SCTCC with skills in computer design, time management, and understand how to work as a team with others.
For a unique experience, Marketing and Design students have the opportunity to be a part of The Northway Group, a one-of-a-kind, student-run, in-house advertising agency. Being a part of the group will broaden student’s knowledge of the marketing, advertising, communication, and design industries.
The Northway Group even allows for students to work alongside companies in the St. Cloud community, so that students will understand how to work with different partners in the workforce.
Placement rate is self-reported data of graduates available for work in field of study up to one year post graduation. Wage data is from Minnesota Dept. of Employment and Economic Development (DEED).

Program Info for Current Students
The Northway Group is the SCTCC Marketing and Design program's in-house advertising agency. Each project is an individualized student experience with a sponsoring business, organization, or professional and their instructor.
Each student is assigned agency roles with various projects based upon their skill set and experience. Students will then apply their knowledge of marketing, writing, design, research, photography, computer software and production techniques to complete a series of projects that will realistically simulate agency work experience. As students develop their individual skillsets and experience how TNG operates, they will expand leadership roles and responsibilities in subsequent semesters to hone their craft for their chosen career path.
